Cold Benevolence

You have found the personal space of Alicia Valka. Don't worry, I mean no harm so long as you yourself are not harmful. Understand my preference not to hold back in what I say, and that what I do is for the best in the end, no matter how harsh...

ooc:Until further notice, this blog and this character are going to see no further use. My emotional state is extremely unstable, and I have found that attempting to play this character is currently a trigger for depressive states.

I may resume at some time in the future.

Alicia crossed her arms. “…I am not a jester, here to incite laughter by making a fool of myself. It seems you’ll only hear what you wish. It seems rather like said wish is merely for amusement. Perhaps you should find a pet- Or did you grow bored of those and thought me to replace them?”

“Of course for if you were I would have to be the carrier of bad news and inform you that you are not the least bit funny nor a good storyteller.” He raised an eyebrow. “I do not take pets nor would I subject someone to them as though they were such a creature. How twisted you must think me to even state that.”

…If there was to be a game of wits, Alicia did feel inclined to play right now. “Ah, a shame that I learned so little in those years with the bard. He would be quite ashamed to know that I failed so.” She feigned shock. “Twisted? Why, I would never accuse such a thing. Truly, the art of a politician is such a straight and noble one, to craft the words given into whatever is desired to be heard!”

…She was not in the least unaware of how many layers there were to the irony.

“I spent three years in the near-constant company of a bard who also styled himself a tactician It becomes difficult to speak in any manner that -isn’t- poetic.”  Alicia responded simply.

“Of course. There is always explanation for behavior that does not place blame upon oneself.” He glanced at her. “Yet, to set oneself as the perpetual victim and accept no blame for ones who own actions is not often trusted or taken into high view.”

"…The victim? I seek only to give an explanation." Her eyes narrowed. "If you think I do not see my failings… You are wrong. I have miscalculated, and I have failed, and I have seen lives end because of me. …I have made mistakes even as I speak to you. I do not deny that. At least I have come this way seeking to find knowledge, rather than run away from it."

“Then I am to assume you naturally are this difficult as well?” He asked, simply glancing at her. “Or do you enjoy trying my patience?”

“I believe you are hesitant in speaking on the important matters,” he said, keeping his gaze on her, unsure of what bothered him most about her. He already had the sneaking suspicion that her “truths” were elaborated and drawn out to be fiction. The mere fact that she had given him information that he did not care for remained in the forefront of his mind and he did not feel an inkling to trust her at all.

“It would seem to come naturally. I’ve been told more than once that I am not easy to be around.” She showed nothing to betray her thoughts.

“I have already said what he is capable of and what he is willing to do, and I have begun speaking of his weaknesses. The only hesitance I may have is due to your very reactions.” Her voice held no immediate fury. She was in control. “Do you think me merely a braggart trying to boast of relation to power, or some damsel calling for pity? I care not of either. If you believe that I should be telling you how to unleash a pre-emptive attack, I hardly could do that without knowledge of how to travel worlds. I can tell you how to draw him once his attention has arrived, and what to expect of him. I apologize if this is not enough for you.”

“One would be left to assume that you take a perverse pleasure in it,” he said shortly, turning to glance at her, examining her with cold eyes. “You tell pretty stories, you do not speak facts. Anyone who encounters war learns to speak in facts, to not put emotion into it as though one wishes to garner sympathy.”

“While that is a touchingstory,” he said, preferring to not be told some tale about her origins and such, rather wishing to hear about the supposed enemy that they had to fear. “I was hoping that you might constrain yourself to facts.”

He did not glance at her, keeping his gaze forward, pace still quick. She had told him nothing but reasons to garner his pity—of which he refused to give. He did not pity, especially those who he just met. “Useful tactical information would be most accepted.”

“You spoke of a beginning.” Alicia replied simply. “I believed that simple events functioned as such. Perhaps I was simply mistaken.” Tactical information… “It would be best to have a map for combat tactics. His personal, exploitable weaknesses, however, I could say much more on… He can’t resist anything he believes will give him more power over anything. If you give him the chance to think he’s in control, he’ll become arrogant and let his guard down.”

She looks toward Loki, trying to judge his body language. “Are these the sorts of things you wish to know?”

He stopped, staring at her, eyebrows knit as he analyzed her. “But if you have seen what you say to have seen, then you could explain tactics without a map. And if you truly know of what you speak of, if you truly considered this threat just that, you would not be hesitant in speaking.”

He remained standing, gaze flicking over her, unsure of what to make of her and her tales of tragic beginnings. He could only find so much truth in a story that evaded what he wanted to know.

"Oh, naturally I could." Alicia responded levelly. "Yet, anything is best done with the proper tools, is it not?" She stopped, meeting his gaze calmly. "What do you believe I am so hesitant on?"

Please let me know how I'm doing as my character or leave me some constructive criticism?
